Terraria is an action-adventure indie video game originally released for Microsoft Windows in 2011, It was a hit that sold millions of copies and soon ported to many different systems including Android and IOS.
The gameplay is revolved around exploration, building and fighting in a 2D world. In many ways it reminds to games like Minecraft, but its 2D sprites bring memories of old 16-bit games, anyway don’t be deceived but it’s simple graphics, Terraria is full of depth and not in vain it received the Indie of the Year Player Choice award on IndieDB.

Rocket Donkey can just be classified as a weird game. Its gameplay is very simple: guide your donkey (on a rocket) in the digestive system of a giant (?). Absurd is one of the many words that come to your mind when you play the game. The visuals are quite original and the sound pretty good, but the game itself lack of depth and the oversimple gameplay makes it to become boring before long.
Anyway, if you like absurdity in games, it is worth a try. Also check the “Testimonials” video out, really funny and original.

Today we start a new blog section: Who is Behind. Here we’ll talk about people who for a reason or another have been relevant for the Indie Game Community.
Our first Who is Behind is for Johannes Vuorinen, co-founder of Frogmind Games, the indie studio which developed the beautiful Badland. He graduated in 2009 as Master Science in Technology at Helsinki University of Technology and has worked for several video games companies which have given him a solid background in developing games. One day he decided to bet for his own indie studio and joined forces with Juhana Myllys. They both started their adventure in 2012 and a few months later released Badland which collected many awards and bring them to the public eye. Their story has inspire us and it’s one of our reference points, so thanks Johannes Vuorinen!!

Badland is one of those games which has reached the top. It was develop by a little indie studio (FrogMind) in 2012 and won Apple Inc.’s 2013 iPad Game of the Year award and the Grand Prix award in the 9th annual International Mobile Gaming Awards.

Rymdkapsel is a minimalist real-time strategy indie game where you take command of a space station and its minions. You will have to plan your expansion and manage your resources to explore the galaxy. Striking a good balance between defense and expansion is key to succeeding.
The game was build over a year and half by the indie studio Grapefrukt and it was released in 2013 receiving many favorable reviews.

Thomas Was Alone is an puzzle platformer game, originally released as a flash game in October 2010. The game was expanded and released to many other systems during 2012-2013. Finally it was released for iPad devices in May 2014, and for other iOS devices and Android devices in July 2014.
