FruityFish in real life

When someone tells you that there’s a fish which eats fruit, you can think that person is completely insane… but the truth is such animal exists and we have pics of it! It’s called Tambaqui or Pacu (Colossoma macropomum) and it’s a freshwater fish original from South America (it can be found in most rivers and streams in the Amazon and Orinoco river basins of lowland Amazonia).

This fish does not only eat fruits, it’s also an important element dispersing seeds and spreading plant species (more info) but the most incredible (and scary) fact about it are its very human teeth.

FruityFish: FAQ

Here are the most Frequently Asked Questions FruityFish players ask to us. If you have any other, just leave us a comment and will update the list ASAP.

♦ I need more time to clear a level

No problem. If you fail a level twice, a popup will be shown and you can get five extra seconds pressing the “share” button. And don’t worry if you fail the level again, you’ll have the extra seconds as long as you don’t close FruityFish.

♦ I didn’t press the “share” button when the popup was shown, but I want the extra seconds now.

After the second fail, the popup won’t be shown again but you can get the extra time pressing the “share with clock” button on the bottom-right corner of the screen when you fail the level.

♦ What is the “two-thumbs” technique?

Some players play FruityFish using both thumbs, one in each side of the screen and they control the fish touching one side or other. This technique has one important advantage: the fish is never hiding by your own finger. In the other hand, many players find this way of playing very hard, so they use just one finger which is dragged around the screen to control the fish.

♦ Do you know you can see which of your Facebook friends are playing FruityFish and in which level they are?

Just open the game and press the “Play with friends” button. Now you are ready to beat your friends in the race to the sacred volcano. Show them who is the boss.

♦ Why do you need the “publish” permission to play with friends?

To save your current level in Facebook, we need that permission. Facebook Policy. And save your level in Facebook is the only way your friends can see where you are in the game map,
so we are forced to ask for it.

♦ If I grant the “publish” permission to FruityFish, Will you post anything without I know it?

No, we won’t. FruityFish have a few buttons which publish to your wall (share a level, share a chest and share for more seconds), but you have to explicitly press one of these buttons to get something published in your timeline. You are always in control.

♦ I want to play with my Facebook friends but none of them are playing FruityFish

Easy solution! Invite them! Press the following button and choose the way you want to share the game:

♦ Hey, I have found a bug, How do I contact you?

You can use our contact form.

FruityFish: Pursuing the gigantus strawberry

Sure you know FruityFish tells the story of two little fish addicted to eat fruit that have heard there’s a place, the Sacred Volcano, where an ancient legend tells of the gigantus strawberry, the most delicious fruit in the world.

Gigantus Strawberry

But maybe you don’t know our two fruit eaters are expert nutritionists and they have very good reasons to start this dangerous trip, today they want to share those reasons with all of us, here’s the most relevant strawberry nutritional facts:

  • Strawberry is low in calories (32 cal/100g) and fats but rich source of health promoting phyto-nutrients, minerals, and vitamins that are essential for optimum health.
  • Strawberries have significantly high amounts of phenolic flavonoid phyto-chemicals called anthocyanins and ellagic acid. Scientific studies show that consumption of these berries may have potential health benefits against cancer, aging, inflammation and neurological diseases.
  • Strawberry has an ORAC value (oxygen radical absorbance capacity, a measure of anti-oxidant strength) of about 3577µmol TE per 100 grams.
  • Fresh berries are an excellent source of vitamin-C (100 g provide 58.8 mg or about 98% of RDI), which is also a powerful natural antioxidant. Consumption of fruits rich in vitamin C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents, counter inflammation and scavenge harmful free radicals.
  • The fruit is rich in B-complex group of vitamins. It contains very good amounts of vitamin B-6, niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and folic acid. These vitamins are acting as co-factors help the body metabolize carbohydrate, proteins and fats.
  • Strawberries contain vitamin A, vitamin E and health promoting flavonoid poly phenolic antioxidants such as lutein, zea-xanthin, and beta-carotene in small amounts. These compounds help act as protective scavengers against oxygen-derived free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) that play a role in aging and various disease processes.
  • Furthermore, They contain good amount of minerals like potassium, manganese, fluorine, copper, iron and iodine. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure.Manganese is used by the body as a co-factor for the antioxidant enzyme, superoxide dismutase. Copper is required in the production of red blood cells. Iron is required for red blood cell formation. Fluoride is a component of bones and teeth and is important for prevention of dental caries.

So if a normal strawberry has all this benefits, imagine what a gigantus strawberry can do for you!
